About Me

Welcome to Two Trees Counseling, my name is Megan Hunt, LMHC. I am an experienced mental health counselor with over 7 years of professional experience in the field. For the past 3 years, I have been running my own private practice, where I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing various mental health challenges.

My journey as a counselor began in a partial residential treatment center for eating disorders. During my time there, I gained valuable insights and hands-on experience in helping individuals struggling with the complex issues that come with eating disorders. This experience solidified my passion for mental health and motivated me to specialize in other areas as well.

As a counselor, my areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem, eating disorders, and school/peer relationships. I have worked with clients across different age groups, including high school students, college-age individuals, and adults. This diverse range of clients has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by each age group.

n my practice, I primarily utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt therapy approaches. These evidence-based modalities have proven to be effective in helping individuals understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and empowering them to make positive changes in their lives.

My approach to counseling is client-centered, meaning that I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can openly express their thoughts and emotions. I believe in fostering a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, working collaboratively to identify their goals and develop personalized treatment plans.

I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges and supporting them in their journey towards healing and personal growth. Whatever struggles you may be facing, know that you are not alone, and I am here to provide guidance and support.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you have any further questions or would like to schedule a session, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
